The 8th annual CARO Workshop will be held on the 11th and 12th of May, 2015 at the Hotel Hafen Hamburg in Hamburg, Germany.
This year’s theme is
"Digital Judo: Fighting back."
CARO and the CARO Workshop was founded on the principle of exchanging information with trusted partners. This year, we are seeking presentations with ideas that go beyond detecting and investigating malware and crime. How do we use our opponent’s strength against them? What more can we do in the defense of users? How do we fight back?

Topics

Topics can include:
  • Sinkholing
  • Honeypots and Honeynets
  • Infiltration
  • Ethics and Legality of active countermeasures
  • Working with Law Enforcement
  • Manipulating C&C Traffic
  • Combative security models
  • Whitelisting and behaviour-based detection
There will be approximately 14 full presentations, each 45 minutes long. There is no obligation to submit a final paper or the presentation slides, but if the authors wish to, the papers and presentation will be posted on the CARO Workshop site.
